When a person is diagnosed with cancer, hope for their future can be just as important as the top-notch medical care provided for them at McLaren-Macomb.
Patients in our cancer program feel hope when:
- They see the welcoming smile of a volunteer who greets them.
- The highly trained health care professionals who perform their diagnostic ests or administer their treatments do it efficiently and with compassion.
- A multidisciplinary group of doctors works with nurses, social workers, pharmacists, dietitians and other members of the medical team to offer each patient an individualized treatment plan tailored to his needs.
- They know the cancer program invests in new technology to offer some of the most advanced treatments.
- They have access to new medications and therapies close to home by participating in research clinical trials.
- The Diane & Dean Petitpren Resource Center is available to them and their loved ones for up-to-date cancer information from books, videotapes and the Internet.
