Brians House is a 19-bed residential/Inpatient hospice facility designed to provide compassionate care for terminally ill patients and their families.

For most of us, the idea of
"home" means comfort, convenience, and a special place to call one’s own. At
Brian’s House we’ve selected a serene setting, cozy furnishings and
compassionate staff to bring the very best attributes of home to our patients
and their families.
At Brian’s House we offer attractively furnished private bedrooms with an attached comfortable living room and other quiet areas for patients and their families to gather. There is a child’s play area off the living room. Our facilities are fully equipped to meet the medical needs of our patients.
This home away from home provides care for our seriously ill hospice patients.
Specialized round-the-clock care to control their symptoms and pain
Extra nursing attention while symptoms stabilized after a hospital stay
Short-term stay while family members learn new care giving techniques
Care for those close to death when family wishes death to occur other than in the hospital setting
Care to patients in the last days or weeks of life who have no caregiver or whose caregiver is unable to provide full time care.
We’re here to do everything we can to bring comfort to patients and families during their time of need. Brian’s House helps hospice patients and their families and friends make the most of every moment in the greatest possible comfort and dignity.
Hospice benefits may be provided by Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance. McLaren Visiting Nurse & Hospice – Bay accepts all patients regardless of ability to pay. The cost of care for patients who lack insurance coverage is offset by charitable funds received by Hospice. The room and board cost of Brian’s House is $175.00 per day and may be paid for by some insurance, privately or may be supplemented with public funds. Our helpful staff will be happy to explain coverage and benefits in detail.
Medical care is provided under the direction of the patient’s doctor or our Hospice Medical Director. Each patient’s personal care team consists of a nurse, personal care aides, chaplain, social worker, and bereavement counselor. The team also includes trained volunteers, who make a great contribution, serving as helpers, companions and friends to patients and their families.
Personalized bereavement support is coordinated to meet the needs of the
family for 13 months after the death of their loved one.
